Dam inspection detects crack

There’s a crack in the Leland Dam which will need to be addressed by the county Board of Commissioners.

A recent inspection of the dam resulted in an overall positive report from The Spicer Group of St. Johns. However, deficiencies were noted.

“The news was there was a crack in the dam,” said District 5 commissioner Alan Campbell said. He is the county board representative on the dam authority. “You can take that as bad news or just news that maintenance is required and we’re going to have to budget for it.”
