To the editor:
We’d like to thank our departing lake biologist Ron Reimink for four years successfully managing our Eurasian watermilfoil (EWM) control program. Ron’s innovative tools and techniques for non-chemical control of EWM helped tame North America’s most invasive aquatic plant in Lake Leelanau.
Full-time staff–Annalise Povolo and Elizabeth Haber — and our returning seasonal crew will continue our EWM control program without interruption as we build on the momentum Ron helped create. We are sincerely grateful for the expertise and energy he brought to this work. His contributions have laid the foundation for a healthy Lake Leelanau for generations to come.
