To the editor:
She said “I don’t hate you” with a smile on her face moments before her murderer says, “F*****g b***h” after pulling the trigger three times. The president and top officials slander the dead mother, jumping to accusations with no investigation, only their relentless narrative about any opposition to their policy as domestic terrorism. Further, the Republican administration blocks an investigation into the truth by local, unmasked, law enforcement. In westerns, our cinema portrays the masked men as terrorizing outlaws with something to hide; maybe they wear 1930’s Brown Shirts too. Protesters objecting to policy as a constitutional right, armed with whistles, are not terrorists.
Days earlier, the administration invades a sovereign nation, creates regime change based on drug charges, without notice to Congress or the DEA, but notice to private oil executives under the “Monroe Doctrine”. The deputy chief of staff tells us that “might makes right” despite over 50 years of humanity, led by the U.S. and President Eisenhower, embracing the rule of law (not might) and mediation to protect humanity in a nuclear age.
