Even though at least three members of the Leelanau County Board of Commissioners have expressed little-to-no interest in the board establishing any goals for itself for 2021, the board will hold a “Special Committee of the Whole Session” next week to discuss board goals. The meeting was announced last Thursday after the county board’s three Democrats notified county administrator Chet Janik that they wanted to hold the special meeting. *** Vaccinations for COVID-19 countywide continues to flow slowly, frustrating the public and health department staff as well. Just 200 doses were received by the Benzie-Leelanau District Health Department (BLDHD) this week as students at Leland Public School returned to classrooms Tuesday for the first time this school year.
