“Unnecessary Farce” will be presented over two weekends next month at the Willowbrook Inn. Pictured, background from left, are Justin Berryman, John Saunders and Laura Kalchik. Foreground, from left are John Todd, Gloria Thomas, Kim Todd and Joel T. Hoard.

“Unnecessary Farce,” an adult-themed two-act play by Paul Slade Smith, is this year’s Cocktails, Canapés, and Comedy theater production by the Northport Performing Arts Center (NPAC).

The adult content promises to induce plenty of audience laughter. “Unnecessary Farce” follows an undercover sting operation with an embezzling mayor. Confusion leads to comical interplay among the characters.

Performances, hosted at the Willowbrook Mill, 201 N. Mill St. will be featured over two weekends: February 13-15 and February 20 -22. Friday showtime is 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6 p.m. for appetizers and cash bar.
