Trump denigrates allie military veterans

On January 22 in Devos, Switzerland President Trump said the following about NATO allies: “We never needed them. We have never really asked anything of them. They’ll say they sent some troops to Afghanistan and they did, they stayed a little back, a little off the front lines.”

Thirty-five hundred NATO coalition troops died in support of the United States’ war in Afghanistan. 2,500 U.S. troops, 457 UK troops, 165 Canadian troops, 378 other Allied troops were killed.
