Samba dud; Ronin wasp possibilities

The Samba Wasp’s time is done on local cherry farms.

The tiny parasitic wasp was mass-reared to fight Spotted Wing Drosophila (SWD). This invasive vinegar fly destroys ripening fruit but was officially deemed too weak to withstand the harsh Leelanau winters after two years of work.

Now, local cherry orchards welcome the mysterious Ronin wasp, not from a controlled release, but somehow showing up on its own. Both wasps are natives of Asia.
