Monday Graeme Leask and Tony West got to do something that they had not done since November. They got to welcome people inside the dining areas of their restaurants. For the first time in more than 10 weeks, people can legally eat inside Michigan restaurants again. Michigan’s dine-in ban expired at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 31. It started Nov. 18 in response to a second wave of high rates of COVID-19 spread. *** The Leelanau County Board of Commissioners made no progress on establishing goals for itself at a special meeting Wednesday morning that adjourned after less than an hour before any substantial discussion of goals occurred. The three Democrats on the sevenmember county board had called for a special “committee of the whole” meeting the morning of Feb. 3 to discuss “potential recommendations” for 2021 board goals.
