Glen Lake seized sole possession of first place in the Northwest Conference with a 58-49 win over Buckley girls basketball Wednesday, powered by Lydia Fosmore’s game-high 27 points.

The Lakers then turned around and defeated Pine River 52-43 Friday as Fosmore dropped another 19 points, seven rebounds, and four assists.

“We were playing solid defense, and we were moving well as a team. We had good chemistry. We knew that this was gonna be a good game and that Buckley is a good team. We came out right from the jump,” Fosmore said. “We have to keep doing what we were doing in the first round (of the season). Stay focused, keep our heads down, stay humble, stay positive, and keep working.”
