Npt village council OKs Seventh St. resolution

The village of Northport voted unanimously to approve a resolution determining the future use of the village-owned parcel at 315 E. Seventh Street, also known as the “Seventh Street parcel.”

The resolution helps to formalize the council’s position amid ongoing discussions regarding how to best utilize the Seventh Street parcel. The Seventh Street parcel is now dedicated for proposed use 2, which allows for using a portion of the parcel for development at the discretion of the village while the rest remains in its natural state.

Chris McCann, Northport Village Council president, clarified during the meeting that the resolution would not solely focus on housing development for Seventh Street, but rather, it would allow for “development at the discretion of the village,” ensuring that the rest of the parcel stays in a natural state.
