Assisting the Benzie-Leelanau District Health Department in educating the public and distributing the COVID-19 vaccine is at the top of a list of goals for 2021 that the Leelanau County Board of Commissioners recommended for itself in a unanimous vote this week. That vote occurred some three hours before the board considered whether it would adopt a resolution in support of the Great Barrington Declaration, a controversial approach to dealing with the COIVD-19 pandemic. *** Residents of Glen Arbor concerned about the waterfront where Crystal River Marina sits can breathe a collective sigh of relief — thanks to three township business owners. Anderson’s Market owner Brad Anderson, Ranae and Bob Ihme, owners of Leelanau Vacation Rentals & LVR Realty and Glen Arbor Outdoor, and Glen Craft Marina owners the Aylsworth family purchased the parcels from marina owner Don Lewis late last year.
