Richard John Travin passed into eternal life at Munson Hospice House in Traverse City, Michigan on January 17, 2024. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 06, 1949 to parents Richard John and Mary Jane (Gilleran) Travin who preceded him in death.
As a young child, his favorite outfit involved a cowboy hat, boots, and a six shooter. He attended Saint Xavier Elementary school in LaGrange, Illinois, and was proud to proclaim that he was an altar boy there. In those days, he lived to ride his bike, dig holes in the sand with his Tonka trucks, ice skate, and play tricks on his sisters. He graduated from Fenwick High School in Oak Park, Illinois, in 1967. While at Fenwick, he was on the swim team, competed as a speed skater, and chased girls at Nazareth Academy.
