Today I watched a beautiful and uplifting opening ceremony in Italy celebrating the Winter Olympics. The theme of this Olympics is Peace. On full display was unity, diversity and equality - the backbone of the Olympics. Kindness and respect for fellow athletes regardless of the outcome of the competition, win or lose, was the clear message.
Today I saw posted on social media by the current President of the United States of America…a picture of a prior President and First Lady of the United States of America depicting them with their heads positioned on the body of monkeys. The racist message to our first and only black President and First Lady was clear. Shocking - unfortunately no, just very, very sad. As a country we have become numb…to our peril.
