Yeti Fest & Winterfest this weekend
If you are looking for love on Valentine’s Day, look no further than Suttons Bay Yeti Fest and Glen Arbor’s Winterfest, slated for this weekend.
“The Best Yeti Fest This Side of the Himalayas” returns this Saturday as Suttons Bay Chamber of Commerce will host the 2026 Yeti Fest.
Events start at 10 a.m. with Yeti Fest at the Suttons Bay library or a free movie at the Bay Theatre.
At noon, Yeti Central, where you can buy official Yeti Fest gear, such as stickers, hats, and tickets to events like the chili cook-off or scavenger hunts. Yeti Central, headquartered at VI Grill, will open along with the start of the digital scavenger hunt that is hosted by Bahle’s, the kids’ scavenger hunt, face painting at the Friendship Center, and the Suttons Bay Fire Department will be serving hot dogs on Madison Street.
The Chili Cook-Off will start at 2 p.m. and end around 4:30 p.m. with participants from local businesses such as Hop Lot, Bay Pizzeria, Boone’s Prime Time Pub, Peninsula Provisions, The Unsalted Mitten, and others that are listed on the Suttons Bay Chamber website. At 5 p.m. to close the day, there will be an awards presentation for the scavenger hunts and the chili cook-off. DTE Energy has also supplied fire pits around the festival, with s’mores from The Painted Bird and Hot Chocolate from Northern Latitudes.
Winterfest hosted by Boonedocks in Glen Arbor will be held noon until 3 p.m. Saturday.
The Glen Arbor Winterfest ice fishing tournament will happen Valentine’s Day from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Admission to the chili cookoff is $15 per person, which includes unlimited chili samples. Seniors 70+ and kids under six enter for free.
Each business, organization, or family requires eight gallons of chili to serve at the event.
Proceeds from the event will be awarded at the senior scholarship night at Glen Lake School to deserving students to help cover college tuition.
The event is family-friendly, just plan to dress for the weather.
Nearly 821 people attended the festival last year. The winter festivities raised over $10,000, which will be used for donations at Glen Lake Schools, Empire Food Pantry, and Father Fred.
