Michele Aucello: The Aurora Chaser

By the time most of Glen Arbor has turned in for the night, Michele Aucello is just getting started.

A local photographer known for capturing the Northern Lights and Milky Way, she waits for astronomical twilight - that brief surrender of daylight when true darkness settles in and the sky begins to wake up.

“It’s really hard not to go out if I think the (Northern) lights are going to be there,” she said.
