County commissioners took formal action this week to recognize the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians for recent 2% awards.
The board voted unanimously Tuesday to approve a letter to the Tribal Council thanking them for nearly $93,000 in 2% grants announced in January.
The largest allowance — $50,000 — is going to Leelanau Christian Neighbors for its food pantry and financial assistance program.
