Disappointed

A survey seems to come out as fast as the internet can send them, and they have something in common. They are based on tabulated responses so that the survey taker’s role is mathematical rather than opinionated.

Which leads to the extreme disappointment we hear from residents about the so-called “’climate/culture survey” of county employees that was made by a downstate corporation under the direction of Kama Ross, chair of the county board personnel committee. The survey, at the cost of thousands — includes the number of employee participants but lacks critical raw data and percentages. That allowed the person who wrote the survey to include opinions he wanted and to withhold opinions he did not want. MLI used local representatives who were former school administrators to do the survey. One would think maybe these locals might hold some biases. Which leads one to question why competitive bidding wasn’t used for solicitation of survey?
