‘This is not over’

To the editor:

Catherine Hartesvelt, county finance director, has been fired for (alleged) insubordination by county administrator James Dyer. The “insubordination” apparently arose out of a “conversation” Hartesvelt had “in a hallway” at the government center with county Treasurer John Gallagher.

Apparently, only Dyer can talk to the treasurer, and only Dyer can talk to the finance director. We don’t know what the “conversation” in question was about. Only Hartesvelt and Gallagher were there.
