Fleis scholarships grow by 2; time to apply

The Ed & Irene Fleis Education Foundation is announcing two major updates.

Fleis scholarship applications are now available online for Leelanau County students or those with Leelanau lineage. Deadline is April 15. Winners will be notified by mail or email.

The Fleis Foundation board, which has deep roots in Leelanau County, will award $98,400 in scholarships this year through its foundation to students to continue their education via a college/university degree, trade/vocational certificate, or diploma. To date, over $840,000 has been distributed to nearly 500 students since 2006.
