To the editor:
A poor 2021 decision has plagued the County Commissioners for five years. By overstepping their duties and failing to consult the Clerk or Administrator, they triggered a series of blunders that eroded trust and fueled internal infighting.
In 2025, the Board made a sound move by hiring a highly qualified, experienced Administrator. However, some Commissioners and staff are clearly struggling with having a professional in their midst. It can be difficult for long-term local figures to accept that “fresh eyes” might spot necessary fixes, but the Administrator must be given the freedom to do his job.
