Since 1987, Women’s History Month has been celebrated every March in the U.S. and is a time to both acknowledge and honor women’s contributions in society. The women that first come to mind are the ones that build each other up and inspire others to do genuine good, in whatever way that may be, ultimately making this world a better place.
Luckily, we were just graced with an abundance of inspirational performances from the women athletes during the 2026 Olympic Winter Games, which just wrapped up on Feb. 22. My mother and I have always loved watching the Olympics together and cheering the athletes on from home, and these last winter games in Italy did not disappoint. So many great examples of women at their best under high pressure while still demonstrating the kind of camaraderie and sportsmanship that we should all take notes from.
The women on team USA and their lifetime of hard work was visible to all and impossible to miss — eight of the team’s record-setting 12 total gold medals were won by women. In addition to winning more than half of those gold medals, the women won 61% of Team USA’s 33 total medals this year. The medals Team USA women earned represent their determination and strength, but their journeys that got them to where they are was the most inspiring part of tuning into the games.
