Shamrock Crawl: Lake Leelanau and Glen Arbor businesses host St. Patrick’s Day events

The Leelanau Peninsula will come alive with green as local businesses host pub crawls and traditional fare to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

St. Patrick’s Day is Tuesday, March 17, but the action will go down Saturday in Glen Arbor and Lake Leelanau with separate local pub crawls.

Glen Arbor luck of the Irish

The iconic Glen Arbor St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl takes place from noon to 7 p.m. across several establishments.

“It’s a fun, Jolly day of shannanigans,” Kaitlyn Springsdorf said. “It’s a chance to get out and do something different.”

Schedule:

12-1 p.m: M22 Glen Arbor.

1-2 p.m: Glen Arbor Wines.

2-3 p.m: Boondocks.

2-4 p.m: Cherry Public House.

4-5 p.m: A little break to check out the local shops. The Cottage Book Shop, Totem , Great Lakes Tea & Spice, and Coastal are just some of the shops that will be open.

5-7 p.m: Live Music at Art’s Tavern.

“It’s going to be a day full of local camaraderie,” Springsdorf said.

M22 will be serving its ‘Shamrock Sparkler,’ a green champagne.

Green beer will be served at Art’s Tavern.

Lake Leelanau Shamrock Crawl

Lake Leelanau is putting on its own Shamrock crawl Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Pedaling Beans Coffee will dish out its Irish cream coffee and shamrock shakes with an Irish trivia twist.

Local Lake Leelanau restaurant and bar will host lunch specials and merchandise deals from noon to 2 p.m., while Northern Latitudes will be serving Irish-themed drinks and a distillery tour from 1 to 3 p.m.

From 2 to 4 p.m., Boathouse Vineyards will be serving a wine and cheese pairing, while Amoritas Vineyards will be serving green cider and wine with a ‘Limerick’ contest to bring in the holiday.

Fiddleheads will be serving Irish beer and food specials with music from 4 to 6 p.m.

Dick’s Pour House will close out the festive celebrations with corned beef and cabbage, along with live music by Zak Bunce.

Pick up a Lake Leelanau Shamrock Crawl passport at any participating business.

Collect stamps from five of the seven locations and return your passport to Dick’s Pour House to be entered in the 7 p.m. prize drawing.
