The 87-acre parcel dubbed the “Googasian property,” located between Carter Road and Grandview Road, just off the Leelanau Tart Trail, is off the table before Elmwood township and the Leelanau Conservancy could seriously pursue it.

“The partners didn’t want to do it. So it came off the agenda,” Elmwood Township Supervisor Jeff Shaw said.

Shaw stated that 10 minutes before Monday’s meeting, he received a phone call from the Googasian property owners, who said they were no longer interested in having the township and conservancy consider buying the property.
