Karl Detzer was a swashbuckling publisher, known coast to coast for his novels, monthly column for Reader’s Digest, and even his screenplays. His weekly Enterprise column, called “Wandering with Karl Detzer,” was filled with personal recounts of his many journeys that often included up-front interviews with leading politicians and celebrities of the times.
The Enterprise’s editorials were also lively, taking on a variety of topics of both local and national importance. Don Gordon, who would later purchase the newspaper with E.J. Ziebell, was managing editor at the time. Authors are not listed for the editorials.
