The Leland Township board will hold its annual meeting on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Old Art Building, where the board is expected to consider salary resolutions, hear reports from township commission and department heads, and hold a budget hearing for the 2026-27 budget.
Salary resolutions for the supervisor, clerk, treasurer, and trustees were approved by the board in February, however, they must be approved again by the public at the upcoming annual meeting. The resolutions include: the township’s clerk salary for $60,138; the supervisor salary for $35,020; the treasurer’s salary for $46,695; and trustee salary for $8,011. The township board salary positions, as well as employees of the township, include a 2.7% cost-of-living-adjustment (COLA) increase for wages.
A budget wrap meeting was held on March 19 where the board reviewed each of the budgets for various departments while addressing any changes that might have taken place between the first draft to now. Within the months leading up to the annual meeting, Leland Township Clerk Lisa Brookfield said they’ve met with all the department heads and have reviewed spending for the last three years, adding that it’s led to creating a draft budget for the coming fiscal year that they’re comfortable with and works with the revenue and anticipated expenses.
