Survivor stories: coming together facing adversity

Here’s a pat on the back to the people of Leelanau County who survived what’s being described as the “St. Patrick’s Day blizzard” of 2026.

More than two feet of snow was recorded March 16 and 17.

This coupled with high winds and frigid temperatures, the storm, which officially dumped 27 inches of white stuff on the peninsula, paralyzed many.
