County commissioners are backing a proposal from the Grand Traverse Band for federal dollars to install sidewalks in Peshawbestown.
The board endorsed a request for Congressional Directed Spending to fund a sidewalk and lighting system in the north Peshawbestown residential district along M-22.
The area extended from Putnam Road and M-22 south to the curve near the GTB Court at 2809 N.W. Bayshore Rd. It is a residential corridor located directly on state highway with a posted speed of 55 mph.
