A much-debated proposal to transfer the responsibilities previously held by the county clerk to the finance department was adopted by commissioners in the past week.
Commissioners voted 5-2 Thursday, with District 3 representative Will Bunek and District 5 commissioner Alan Campbell opposed, to adopt a resolution finalizing the organizational chart for the department.
The resolution has been a long time coming.
