Glen Lake left a frigid Leelanau County last week to travel to Reed City for the first game of the 2026 girls soccer season in 60-degree conditions.

The Lakers got active quickly as sophomore Abigail Steffke headed a corner kick that was rebounded by freshman striker Tuula O’Neil, who scored her first varsity goal.

Temperatures and raindrops started to drop in the second half.
