Joyce hired as Empire DPW head

The Empire Village hired Bob Joyce as the new Department of Public Works (DPW) superintendent after final discussions last week while also taking initial steps to address a long contentious escrow agreement with the New Neighborhood development.

The council took final steps in hiring a new DPW superintendent Tuesday night, approving a pay rate after extended debate while also taking initial steps to address a long contentious escrow agreement with the New Neighborhood development.

The council agreed to offer the DPW superintendent position to Bob Joyce at $37 per hour following multiple votes and discussion over compensation.
