Northport residents Kate and Halley McDonald were in Indianapolis to cheer on Michigan in the NCAA National Championship game this past Monday as the Wolverines defeated the University of Connecticut 69-63.
“It was fantastic, the whole place was electric with positive energy,” Kate McDonald said. “The stadium was filled with maize and blue, with the big advantage fan-wise.”
The Wolverines had to rely on their defense down the stretch to come away with the national championship as Elliot Cadeau earned MVP with 19 points.
