Kudos to housing group

To the editor:

Availability of affordable housing in Leelanau County is an ongoing issue. This is true because Leelanau County’s vibrancy requires housing here to be affordable so that folks can live, work and play here. Happily solutions exist. Aspen, Colorado and Austin, Texas have developed affordable housing. Here at home, kudos to Housing North and Peninsula Housing, two organizations bringing people together to find innovative affordable housing solutions while building affordable housing. Electing people who will develop affordable housing strategies and actions, like changes to zoning and tax laws, ensures our slice of paradise remains vibrant and welcome to all.
