Suttons Bay Township, its Parks and Recreation Committee, and Friends of Herman Park has launched a capital campaign to fund the development of a new, accessible farm - themed playground at Herman Community Park, located West of the park’s popular pavilion.
This community-driven initiative aims to create an inclusive play space where children of varied ages and all abilities can learn, explore, and play together.
The proposed playground will feature universally accessible equipment, sensory-rich play elements, and barrier-free design to ensure that every child — regardless of physical or developmental ability — can safely enjoy the space. The project reflects the township’s commitment to fostering a welcoming, vibrant, and inclusive community for residents and visitors of all ages.
