Around two dozen supporters will meet at the V.I. Grill Saturday to celebrate the launch of Brian Fenlon’s campaign for Cherryland Electric Board of Directors.
From 1 to 3 p.m. supporters will hear about Brian’s vision for the coop, why others are supporting Brian’s campaign, sign up for volunteer opportunities and collect yard signs.
Fenlon and his wife just started their family in Leelanau. Amidst rising energy prices and severe weather events, Fenlon is concerned about the future of Leelanau County and Cherryland for his family and his neighbors.
With a history of service, Brian is launching his campaign to be on Cherryland’s Board of Directors to help them plan for the dramatic changes we are seeing in our energy sector to help keep costs low for working families and the lights on in the face of extreme weather events.
Fenlon was born and raised in Leelanau and currently works at Blackstar Winery as a production winemaker. He is also chair of Leelanau County Planning Commission; a Leland Township Planning Commissioner; a member of Leelanau Energy; and a member of the Michigan Association of Planning.
Voting in the Cherryland elections happens from May 1 - June 12. Members can vote online, by mail and at the annual meeting on June 12.
