Chris Sack: from coral reefs to Glen Arbor

Chris Sack: from coral reefs to Glen Arbor
Chris Sack, co-owner of Great Lakes Tea and Spice in Glen Arbor, has built a life around being and helping others be “nature nerds.” Enterprise photo by Kate Ward

Inside Great Lakes Tea and Spice, colorful jars and tins line the walls, their scents wafting and mingling together. The shop feels layered and intentional, much like one of its owners, Chris Sack.

Sack, who runs the Glen Arbor storefront with his wife Heather, wears many hats — small business owner, community leader, environmental advocate — but at the center of each role is still just a self proclaimed “nature nerd.”

“I was always a little nature nerd,” Sack said. “Running through the woods, stuff like that was my little expression of nature nerdiness, and enjoying nature, which is how every kid, every adult should be.”
