Spring flowers, brass bands, art exhibits, morel hunting and more… Today from 3 to 6 p.m., there is a joint Spring Open House at the Leelanau Township Community Foundation, Northport Performing Arts Center (NPAC), and Northport Arts Association (NAA). Stop by to meet the wonderful teams that keep these organizations going and growing, and hear firsthand about the projects, grants and programs shaping our township this year. It’s a perfect afternoon to connect with friends and see what’s in store for our community!
The NAA is also featuring the debutof “ConnectedbyCause,” a collaborative exhibit by Northport Public School and the Northport Arts Association today. Be there for the very first look when it opens at 2:30 p.m. The exhibit runs through May 10, and is open Tuesdays through Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.
Things start to pick up even more as we head into May. This Sunday is the return of the Northern Michigan Brass Band in concert at 3 p.m. at the Northport Performing Arts Center auditorium in Northport School. The NPAC is pleased to be able to bring back one of the region’s premier performing bands. This 31 member group has something for everyone as they cover numerous musical genres. Tickets are $20. At the request of the band, all students pre-K to college are free. Residents of Northport Highlands are also free. Tickets are available at the door, which opens at 2 pm, or at the northportperformingarts. org website. It was a huge success last year, so you won’t want to miss it.
