Port Oneida group participates NPF event

Preserve Historic Sleeping Bear joined the National Park Foundation (NPF) and more than 100 park partners from across the country last Wednesday for Hill Day, a powerful day of action dedicated to protecting and sustaining our national parks led by NPF.

Hill Day is an annual opportunity for park advocates to meet with legislators and discuss the policies that make a difference to our national parks and the people who care for them. By bringing the voices of communities, visitors, and park supporters to Capitol Hill, we ensure that our elected officials understand the importance of protecting and investing in these cherished places.

“This is our second year of attending, and we find it a wonderful way to get to know our legislators that make meaningful decisions impacting Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore,” said executive director, Susan Pocklington.
