A proposed site plan known as the “North Gill’s Pier Preserve open space residential development” currently being reviewed by the Leelanau Township Planning Commission has garnered concern among numerous community members and neighbors in recent months.
These concerns also come after the Leelanau Township Planning Commission held a rescheduled public hearing on April 9 after the original hearing was postponed at the request of the applicant on March 12.
Planners took no action on the application at the April 9 public hearing, and another discussion to continue the review will continue on May 14 at the next planning commission meeting. During board discussion of the project held in-person and streamed via Zoom, the audio cut off due to a power cord becoming unplugged. Those tuned in via Zoom also were not able to see the board’s discussion, as only audio was available until the recording stopped late into the meeting.
