With under six minutes remaining, Leland junior Lily Connor launched a pass across the middle and over the Traverse City St. Francis goalie to find Hadley Bison to tie the game 2-2 Tuesday during a girls soccer game.
“We’ve had a winning streak, and coach was out of town; we wanted to keep going with the game and work hard with practice getting a touch out of the cross,” Connor said. “I saw the back corner open up and saw Hadley running, and she is one of those players who can finish it.”
A ball up the left side, touched off a Gladiator defender, allowed Connor to deliver the dime from the right corner, over the Gladiator goalie and into the net to tie it.
