To the editor:
I’m trying to understand how our road commission works. I live on Oxford Drive and have a terrible road that we are living with because we are not able to get a new one from the road commission. This has been going on for many years and our road gets worse every year. The road commission has asked us in the past to gather all our broken asphalt into one pile and they will come and pick it up. We did this last year (which is not an easy thing to do) and the pile is still waiting to be picked up. During the winter the snow plowed from the street covered it and it was a hazard for drivers.
Today, Monday, there were two trucks from the road commission on our street. One was spraying water by the edge of the road and the other truck was sweeping the edge of the road. Why in the world would they send out trucks to do this? I took a walk later and all they did was break up more asphalt and knocked all the loose asphalt back on the middle of the road!!
