Empire VC buys parking passes

A wide range of seasonal and operational issues were discussed last week by the Empire Village Council.

The council approved updates to the village’s beach parking pass system, including the purchase of 3,000 hanging parking passes and 100 registration stickers for golf carts.

Under the new policy, each household will be given two parking passes and two golf cart stickers if applicable, with the option of purchasing a third parking pass. A vote passed to have replacement passes cost $25 initially with a price of $150 for all subsequent lost passes. The tiered price structure is intended to discourage repeated loss or misuse of the system.
