It was all hands on deck Saturday for a spring beautification event, organized by Green Suttons Bay.
More than 20 volunteers — including a couple youth groups and the Suttons Bay-Leelanau County Rotary Club — turned up to dig, plant, rake, paint, push wheel-barrows, collect trash, plant trees, pullweeds, swampsloggingand tree care. Above, volunteers cleaned out an area on Front Street and planted more; above, left, volunteers cleaned planted several trees, bringing the total to 33 the number of tree planted by the organization in the village; left, below, a volunteer is pictured cleaning out one of four rain gardens installed in the village.
