Warming up to summer in Omena

We are finally seeing some spring weather. Spring may be arriving a little late, but Memorial Day is as early as it can be, so the season’s activities are getting an early start. The Omena Presbyterian Church will hold its first worship service of the season on Sunday, May 24 at 10 a.m.

The Northport Arts Association (NAA) Photo Exhibit opens Memorial Day weekend with an Opening Reception on Saturday, May 23 from 5 to 7 p.m. Check out their website for the schedule of spring and summer classes and exhibits.

Kim and Dennis Armbruster recently escaped the late winter weather with a week’s vacation to Ohio and Kentucky. As they have often done before, they attended the horse races at the beautiful Keeneland track in Lexington, Kentucky. A few dollars were wagered and won! It was a beautiful warm day. Other days were spent getting in some much-needed practice golf and their favorite eateries were enjoyed. On their way back north, they stopped at Kanda and Harold McKee’s home in Powell, Ohio for a few days. They enjoyed the company, ate out at great restaurants, tasted a few wines, and enjoyed the weather before heading home to Omena.
