The Traverse City Coast Guard Auxiliary will host a paddling class, May 27.
The three-hour class is set for 6 to 9 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, 1231 Hastings St., in Traverse City.
Topics will include weather conditions important to paddlers, information on life jackets, prevention of hypothermia, types of kayaks, important paddle safety equipment and planning a safe day trip.
