Cedar Tavern is preparing for a summer of barbecue as the local establishment renovates its outdoor patio and invests in meat-smoking equipment.
After a year under new ownership, co-owner Jim Green is ready to see what year two brings.
“To get such a historic space like the Cedar Tavern is amazing. We had an appreciation party in January and ended up with roughly 140 people. We thought we might get 50. These are people who come in 2-3 days a week, year-round, and it was such an eye-opener,” Green said. “There was a lot of panic when we first bought the place. People were thinking we were turning it into a TC Latte Dah type of place. Susie and I love dive bars, and we have no interest in changing anything like that.”
