A “committee of the whole” consisting of all seven Leelanau County Commissioners will conduct a series of special meetings in the months ahead to explore whether two new county departments should be created. GLFD Chief Bryan Ferguson tells the Enterprise no inhabitants or firefighters were injured in the blaze that started just before 4 a.m. After intensely battling the blaze for several hours, firefighters were wrapping up the overhaul process around 10:30 a.m. as they awaited the arrival of fire inspectors.
