Lake Leelanau St. Mary senior Josh Bunek threw a no-hitter against Traverse City Christian Tuesday in a 10-0 win over the Sabres.
“We knew they were going to be tough because last time we played them, we came out slow. We knew we had to come at them this time, so we all came ready to go, got off to a hot start with our bats,” Bunek said. “One, two, three, in the first inning started off good. My defense was all ready to go behind me.”
The day started nicely and warm with minimal wind. By the end of the first game, both teams knew they wouldn’t be able to finish the double-header.
