Ella Flores of Centerville Township will continue to work on her nursing degree at Northwestern Michigan College after learning she is a threetime winner of a Fleis Education Foundation Scholarship.
“This definitely helps my family and I reduce the financial burden of going to college,” said the 20-year-old Flores, one of 82 recipients this year of a $1,200 Fleis Education scholarship. “I appreciate the Fleis scholarship because you can receive it for multiple years and it’s not a one-time thing like other scholarships.”
Flores, a 2024 Glen Lake High School graduate and the first member of her family to attend college, is planning a career in pediatrics or acute care nursing.
