Writing assignments an honor and privilege

As I close in on the 38th anniversary of my career at the Enterprise, I’m thinking of all the veterans I’ve had the pleasure of meeting over the years.

As a nearly green reporter, I really hadn’t spent much time thinking about military operations. But not long afterward I got in on behind the scenes of conflicts dating back to World War II; the Korean War and most recently Vietnam.

Memorial Day honors those soldiers; members who died in military service. However, I’d like to mention the men who expanded my knowledge.
