Glen Lake boys track and field broke two school records in the 4x100-relay and 4x200relay Tuesday at Traverse City Central during the John Lober Record-Eagle Invitational.
Hunter Kemp, Hunter Cox, Breckin Nerg, and Liam Palmer broke the school’s 4x200-relay record with a time of 1:32. Max Galla, Samuel Dykstra, Nerg, and Liam Palmer shattered the 4x100-relay record with a time of 44.45.
Jacob Plamondon won the high jump with a leap of 6’5 to go into the state championships with high hopes.
The Glen Lake 4x800-relay team of Abraham Feeney, Eli Maul, Christian Feeney, and Lincoln Bailey won the area title with a time of 8:37. Dominic Stein finished second in shot put to cap the day for the Lakers.
Lake Leelanau St. Mary junior Daniel Chaney finished fifth in the two-mile with a time of 10:19.
The Glen Lake boys track team will be running for glory at the MHSAA D4 state championships in Hudsonville Saturday.
Members from the Lake Leelanau St. Mary and Leland track teams will also be in attendance.
